Terms of Service

Last updated: July 10, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using WordLab (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these Terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. The Service

WordLab is a free, browser-based text-analysis tool. All analysis is performed locally in your browser; the Service does not receive or store the text you analyse. The Service is provided as a convenience tool for writers, students, and professionals.

3. Your content stays yours

You retain all rights to any text you type, paste, or load into WordLab. Because your text is never transmitted to us, we claim no licence, interest, or access rights in it whatsoever. Responsibility for the content you analyse — including that you have the right to use it — remains entirely yours.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its hosting; (b) scrape, frame, or republish the Service or its written content as your own; (c) use the Service in any way that violates applicable law. Normal use — including heavy personal use, classroom use, and professional use — is welcome.

5. Accuracy disclaimer

Word, sentence, and syllable counting involve judgment calls on which reasonable tools differ, and readability scores are estimates by their nature. The Service's statistics are provided for guidance and may differ from other tools' results. Do not rely on WordLab as the sole authority where a count has legal, academic, or financial consequences — verify against the counting tool used by the party that set the requirement.

6. Optional third-party AI features

If you choose to use the optional AI tab, you do so under your own agreement with the AI provider you configure, at your own cost and risk. We are not a party to that relationship and are not responsible for the provider's outputs, availability, pricing, or data handling.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WordLab and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the Service, including lost work, missed deadlines, or decisions made in reliance on its statistics. Because the Service stores your draft only in your own browser, you are responsible for keeping copies of important text.

9. Advertising

The Service may display third-party advertising. Advertisers do not receive the text you analyse. Your use of advertised products or services is solely between you and the advertiser.

10. Changes and discontinuation

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Since the Service is free and requires no account, no compensation is owed for changes or discontinuation.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
